From 16 to 18 November 2026, the IVSC Annual General Meeting & Conference comes to Cologne. smartZebra is proud to be a brand sponsor.
The IVSC AGM is the one point in the year when the people who write, adopt and apply International Valuation Standards are in the same building. Three days at the Confex Cologne Congress Centre bring together valuation leaders, regulators, standard setters and member organisations from more than 40 countries, hosted this year by HypZert.
The programme moves from the closed board and committee meetings on Monday, through a full day of open debate at the Advisory Forum on Tuesday, to the AGM itself and the HypZert Annual Convention on Wednesday, with simultaneous English and German translation throughout the conference.
Why we are sponsoring
International Valuation Standards set expectations about how a valuation is reasoned and disclosed. Meeting those expectations requires inputs that can be traced, reproduced and explained years after the report is signed.
That is the gap smartZebra exists to close. Risk-free rates, beta factors, market and country risk premia, credit spreads and multiples come from a single database, at a specific valuation date, with the raw data and the calculation path attached to the output.
Supporting the AGM is our way of backing the standards agenda in practice rather than just in principle.
What is on the programme
The Advisory Forum on Tuesday 17 November is open to all delegates and covers ground that is directly relevant to anyone producing valuations:
- Planned changes to the International Valuation Standards, and perspectives on the current market backdrop
- The Global Valuation Alliance and the profession's response to the IOSCO call to action
- Pathways into the profession and the skillsets it needs next
- The evolution of intellectual property valuation, with WIPO
- A market leaders panel
- AI and practical guidance around the world
- Enhancing valuation in the public interest
The evening brings the AGM Gala Dinner at the HypZert Gala Evening, and Wednesday combines the formal AGM with the international HypZert Annual Convention.
What we are bringing to the conversation
Come and find us in Cologne if you want to discuss:
- Standard-aligned cost of capital – parameters aligned with IVS and IDW S 1, adjustable and fully documented
- Beta factors – configurable regression settings, valuation-date precision and statistical quality metrics
- Country risk premia – for more than 100 countries, for cross-border and emerging market work
- Credit spreads – by rating and term, including synthetic ratings where none exists
- Peer group selection – AI-assisted screening across a database of listed and private companies
- Traceability – what a genuinely reproducible valuation file looks like in practice
Why the IVSC AGM matters
Recent months have made the case for standards better than any conference programme could. The EUIPO has pointed to IVS as the foundation for credible IP valuation in Europe, and India's Insolvency and Bankruptcy Board has notified International Valuation Standards for valuations under its insolvency framework.
As IVS adoption spreads, the practical question shifts from whether to apply the standards to how to evidence that you did. That is a data question as much as a methodology question, and Cologne is the right place to talk about it.
